The 2023 St. Thomas Men's Slo-Pitch League Playoffs will start on Monday, August 14th, with 21 teams competing across three divisions. The Playoffs will consist of 3 rounds with 9 Quarter-Final Series opening the Brackets (see below). On Sunday, May 7th the St. Thomas Coed League kicked off the 2023 season. In first-time fashion, the League welcomed St. Thomas Mayor Joe Preston and City Council Member Jim Herbert to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. In Major League Baseball, the phrase "magic number" is used to determine how close a team is to making the playoffs or winning the division. It becomes prominent every year in September as teams begin closing in on clinching. In our league, a team's magic number represents the combination of points needed by that team and points lost by its closest competitor to clinch the division title. We play our Regular Season and Tournament games at six locations in St. Thomas, Belmont, Union, and Talbotville. Our central location is the Doug Tarry Complex, but we will also play games in St. Thomas at both the Burwell Park and Gorman Rupp Diamonds. Maps and addresses for all locations can be viewed below. In 2020, the City of St. Thomas updated the Complex with 5 new scoreboards that were utilized during the 2020 Covid-shortened season by our league members. In 2021, we will continue to use the scoreboard for both Regular Season and Tournament play. The use of the scoreboards has significantly reduced the potential for scoring controversy and adds a visual element for our spectators.
