2019 POWER RANKINGS: Week 11 | July 28th- By The Numbers

Following the conclusion of each Sunday and before the arrival of the next game day, the 2019 Weekly Power Rankings will highlight the successes of the various teams throughout our league. The rankings take into account a variety of stats and scenarios regardless of the divisional home of each team. The rankings are not a prediction of who would win in a head to head matchup nor are they exclusively ranked based on seasonal statistics. A hot streak or tournament success can launch a team on the cusp into contention while a series of setbacks could knock any club, even one in top spot in their division, from the ranks. Good luck!

2022 POWER RANKINGS- WEEK #2
1)PITCHES AINT HIT &
THE MADNESS
(2-0-0)
D5A pair of brand new teams headlines the first installment of the 2022 Power Rankings. The Madness scored 38-runs and defeated the Glo-balls on a successful opening day. Pitches Ain't Hit, a team made up entirely of free agents, came together for wins over a couple of D5 veteran clubs. At 7:00, one of their 0's has to go as they will meet at Gorman in an early battle for top spot in Division 5. NEW-
2)NO BASE LIKE HOME
(2-0-0)
D2Earning a solo spot, the 2021 D3 Regular Season and City champs got their D2 tenure off to a strong start. No Base Like Home, bested the debuting Pound Town and the returning Rebels. They will now turn their attention to the 2019 D2 City Champions Game On this Sunday. NEW-
3)POPATOP &
POWER OUTAGE
(2-0-0)
D1Similar to our top two clubs, the early lead in Division 1 will be determined this Sunday. The 2-time defending City Champs PopATop took down both the Pirates and Red Sox to get off to a great start. While formerly JP Roofing, now Power Outage, bested Trainwreck before upseting the back to back Regular season champs. Their last regular season loss came against New Wave in August 2019. They take the field at 5:30 this Sunday.NEW-
4)ELGIN'S BACKYARD BURGERS
& BUCKS & BROADS
(2-0-0)
D4Atop the East group in Division 4- Elgin's Backyard Yard Burgers and Bucks & Broads both look to capture their first division title. The Burger's had an equally strong start to Opening Day last year, winning a trio of games on the first Sunday. Last Sunday, both clubs took down the Jokers and EBYB also defeated the former D3 club Limitless Tattoos. B&B got arguably the most impressive win, a 13-11 victory over the top ranked I'd Hit That. This Sunday, the Burgers face the aforementioned I'd Hit That, while B&B meet the D5 Champs Tailgators in a sibling battle royale. NEW-
5)B.P. BALLERS &
MAD HATTERS
(2-0-0)
D4In the West, the B.P. Ballers and Mad Hatters both got off to expectedly strong starts. The Ballers are now 18-4-0 over their last 2+ D4 seasons while the Hatters (formerly Railway City Brew Crew) have won 11 of their last 15 games including last years 2021 City tournament. Both teams will look to remain undefeated against Off In the Right Field and Hit Squad before they go head to head in Week 3.NEW-
6)ONE HIT WONDERS & BROKEBAT MOUNTAIN
(2-0-0)
D2Will they get to do it all over again? The last two D2 teams standing in 2021 are both off to strong starts again. One Hit Wonders and Brokebat Mountain finished #2 and #3 last year before turning it on for the City final run. Both teams have routinely been at or near the top of the division for the last few years and 2022 will most likely be no different. This Sunday, the Wonders will take on Pound Town while Brokebat will face a stiff challenge in the also undefeated and #8 ranked Fan of the Sport. These two teams will meet Week 3 for their only regular season encounter. NEW-
7) SMASH N DASH &
BACK ALLEY BREW CREW
(2-0-0)
D3Smash N Dash enter 2022 as a Division favourite and after their 2-0 start, they remain the team to beat in the East. They have finished #2 in each of their last two regular seasons but will aim for their first top spot this time around. Back Alley Brew Crew debuted last year with wins in 6 of their first 8 games, including a victory over the Champs. Unfortunately, a tough finish saw them fall out of contention in the final weeks of the season. Earning a Week 1 win over the D4 Champs Insanity is another strong start. Smash N Dash will look to prove themselves against Insanity this weekend. NEW-
8)FAN OF THE SPORT
(2-0-0)
D2Early expectations have been met for Fan of the Sport. They return to the division in which they composed their best season- 2014 (11-1-0) with a Mid-Season Classic Title. In their first D2 games since 2016, they edged out R-Safety by a single run and hammered another former D1 club Dirt & Diamonds. This Sunday, in a battle of undefeated teams they will take on Brokebat at Burwell Park.NEW-
9)BAT ATTITUDES
(2-0-0)
D3Similarly to the #8 team on our list, coming down a division proved to be the ticket for Bat Attitudes. Despite playing short, they club took home a pair of early wins. An early morning victory over Flippin Bats was followed by a one-sided shutout out Scared Hitless. In a tight division, every win counts and Week 2's matchup versus the Jayhawks poses another important step if B.A. plans to stay ahead of the West pack. NEW-
10)MISFITS
(2-0-0)
D5Finally, another team with expectations to meet- the Misfits held serve in Week 1. After challening the D5 champs all season, they were unable to get the last laugh with a loss in the Finals. It was their 3rd D5 City title game loss in as many trips. This year they are poised to take that next step. They opened with a win over their sister squad Offspring before edging out former D4 club Beer Ballers 11-10. This Sunday they battle Minimum Wagers, with an eye on pulling away from the loser of the Pitches Ain't Hit/Madness showdown. NEW-
On the Cusp: Pirates, New Wave, Dirt & Diamonds, Balled & Beautiful, Abusement Park, Tailgators, Off In Right Field, Beer Ballers, & Diamond Cutters.
